The First Book...TWILIGHT



If many of you know...I am not one that likes to read much, it really has to be something that catches my interest. Well when I saw the previews for Twilight, I thought that is a movie that I could get into. Well, I saw the movie, then my neighbor told me I needed to read the book since there was so much more in the book that was left out of the movie. So I was like, wow, I have so much reading now with school, I will wait til summer break to begin reading the book. Well we went camping Memorial day weekend, and I began reading, I found myself not able to put the book down...I found many times I would make up excuses so I could go into the tent and just read. Well, I finished the book, and now 8 chapters into the second book called "New Moon." WOW...looks like I am so hooked on Twilight!

The Garden

Ok...well the garden is going like gangbusters! You would not believe that we were able to have a great garden as it is turned out! The corn is almost taller than me, well that isn't saying much...hehe, the green beans look yummy, tomato plants wow, are getting huge, and so is the zucchini and yellow squash, and the sweet onions and green onions! Our spring mix got a little too out of control, so we use it for wilted lettuce, or to feed our neighbors guinea pig. Anyways, here are some pics in stages, and I hope you can see how proud we are!!

We have 14 cats!!

Ok...everyone you know that living on a farm you need to have cats to help keep the mice away...well, I went early this year and got 2 almost adult cats from the pound, and then Eric a few-several months later said that his friend at work has 2 kittens that are weened and ready to go, so he brought them home. Well, then our older cats were pregnant, one had 3 and the other had 7. OH YEAH...we got the kitties now! Anyways, then my cousin Tricia told me that her sister had 3 kittens and so I told her that we would take them, well I believe they were not weened from the mom and that they were younger than what was told. Two of them died and the other got sick and I believed passed on too. But now we have 14...they are a hoot to watch. A lot better than dogs!! Will put pics up as soon as I can load them up! Sorry!

Apologies!

Sorry everyone...been quite busy since last post! I took on four classes for the spring quarter, and wow, was it amazing that I did as well as I did. I took Micro/Macro Economics, business law, and principles of management. Well, I ended up with 2-A's, 1-B, and 1-C...for a G.P.A. of 3.2 and overall G.P.A. of 2.914...not bad for being a full time mom, full time wife, and student? Well, got some updating to do, so hope you all enjoy!

I PASSED STATISTICS

Anyone who knows me, math is not my favorite subject at all! Well this past quarter the only class I could afford to take was statistics...I have been in math classes since Sept. 2006 with only taking one quarter off and repeating one math class twice...so knowing that statistics was my last and final math class....I was never so glad to take it and get done with math. Well, upon entering the class, there were only 6 people in my class, and I thought wow, I will be able to learn without many interruptions as last math class. The teacher was horrible...he had no teaching skills, he knew math, but his teaching skills were horrible! He had to curve all the tests but one...but I did my best and passed with a "C" which is good enough for me!!

Our Garden (soon to be)

Hello, we are preparing our garden for upcoming planting...well Eric decided that we needed to buy a tiller, which I am glad he did, because with the size of our garden, we most definitely couldn't have rented one and got it done in a day/weekend! It will be a size of 40' x 50'...uhm...yeah, so this coming fall, guess what I will be doing.....CANNING, CANNING...and more Canning...but we agree, that we grew it, we know what is in it, and if we can live off of it for a year or close to it...imagine the money we can save.....so...it will be worth it! Ok...well, I will update you all when it comes planting, reaping, and harvesting, and canning, oh can't forget the canning part!!

Happy 40th B-day Eric

Wow...turning "40" was something Eric didn't think would turn out the way it did. The girls and I had planned on surprising him with a great b-day wish! Well we pulled it off,I told Eric that I had to meet with friends to study for an upcoming statistics test, and well the girls and I went to his office and decorated with balloons, confetti, caution tape, streamers, etc. And then...the saturday following his b-day we told him that we were going to a surprise party for his sister's b-day which was that sunday. Anyways, I had prearranged with a couple of his friends from high school to show up, and one of them was one he hadn't talked to for over 20 yrs, now how great of an idea was that? He loved it!! They caught up on a million things that has happened since last spoken, and then we enjoyed cake, ice cream and games! He told me that I completely out did myself, and I never cease to amaze him with surprises!! I truly love him, and well, it meant alot to him to see his friends again...so I did what I thought was best!

Wind Damage

A couple weeks ago we had so horrific winds blow through. I am sure some of you were affected, but we got major damage done at our property! We lost 5 barn doors! We were not going to file a claim in case it would cause our rates to go up on insurance...well what I didn't know until I talked to my friend at the insurance company...was in our county (Darke) that we have a storm clause that allows for us to make claims and they don't go against us!! How cool is that?? Well, we had an estimate done, and it looks like $5000 to fix all doors! So all I am saying is these will probably be still standing in next high winds we get, and then the barns will be needing to be replaced! LOL! Nothing inside the barns were damaged, thank God, but it looks bad!

Snow...Lots & Lots of SNOW!!!!

Remember when we got all that snow?? Well, we got 13.5" of snow, with knee high drifts! WOW, that is alot of snow! Eric had been wanting to play on the lawn tractor with the snow blade, and well, he got his chance to. He was out there for 3 1/2 hrs plowing, but then the next morning, it looked as though he didn't even touch the drive! But the morning after getting all the snow, he dared to attempt to go to work. Well, it took him about 1 1/2 hours to get out of the driveway! I took pictures because this is something we will laugh at later! I enjoyed having snow, but we got a little too much, and to have the kids home for 3 days...now that took some patience! We dealt with what we could while we could, and on the friday after getting the snow....and we were cleared from the level 3, the girls and I hit the road and went out for a few hours. We were having major cabin fever! But I hope you enjoy the pictures of or snow!

Room 2 almost done

Hello all...here is yet another posting. We are almost done with our master bedroom. It is sleepable, still need minor work, but atleast Eric and I are sleeping in our bed! We just need to finish putting up trim, painting (minor), closet organizer, and closet doors. But we began working on tearing down lathe and plaster in Maddy's room, insulated walls, ran electrical wiring for plugs and switches...awaiting dry enough weather to hang drywall. The girls are sleeping downstairs still..but are looking forward to sleeping in a bedroom soon. What work, but it will all pay off. Then when this work is done...we have an addition we are wanting to put on, but that won't be for a few years. This summer is alot of work ahead too...so slowly but surely we shall have our house to our liking! Enjoy the pics!
